So, I noticed this issue with my curved screen.  While hooked up to Dell Laptop and MacBook Pro.

It would work... and sometimes not.  When hooked up via HDMI:

Scenario 1

  1. Turn on
  2. monitor start up logo flashes on then blank screen
  3. light goes amber
  4. no HDMI connection

Scenario 2

  1. Turn on
  2. monitor start up logo on screen for proper time, then monitor works
  3. then randomly it goes blank
  4. I then turn off, then on
  5. screen flashes the desktop, then goes blank
  6. until after 5-20 reboots it comes back

I tried it when not hooked up to laptop to see what happens.

scenario 1 - ok - normal

  1. turn on
  2. logo displays for normal period
  3. then goes amber

scenario 2 - - not ok?

  1. turn on
  2. logo flashes on then goes blank

This suggests the monitor is the issue... what do you think?

I am unable to access the bios as the HD is encrypted at boot

Hi @KrisRe,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Since you mentioned that you are connecting this Monitor to your dell and Mac correct?

when it is connected or not connected via HDMI, check the video cable, if the monitor says going to sleep, if it shows going to sleep, then it is not an issue with Monitor. The issue could be with the cable or the devices.

Try a different cable and also update the drivers for the display adaptor on the device you are connecting this Monitor to.

Keep me posted on how it goes.
