Hello,
My HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Pen has suddenly stopped working and inputs from it are no longer registering on my laptop.
This happens even though the pen has been fully charged using the laptop's USB-C power brick (with the white ring showing up when plugged in).
This pen came with my Spectre x360 14 (2024) and was initially working for the first few days but it suddenly stopped working.

Hi @OrangeGroup,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Pen has suddenly stopped working despite being fully charged and previously functioning properly, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues between the pen and the laptop.
- Check pen battery: Ensure that the pen's battery is properly inserted and securely in place. If the battery is removable, try reseating it.
- Update drivers: Make sure your laptop's drivers are up to date, including any drivers related to the pen or touchscreen functionality. You can usually find driver updates through the HP website or through Windows Update.
- Re-pair the pen: If your laptop supports Bluetooth connectivity for the pen, try unpairing and then re-pairing the pen with your laptop. Follow the instructions specific to your device for pairing the pen.
- Check for physical damage: Inspect the pen for any physical damage such as cracks, bends, or other signs of wear. If you find any damage, it may be affecting the pen's functionality.
- Try on another device: If possible, try using the pen on another compatible device to determine if the issue is with the pen itself or with your laptop.
By following these troubleshooting steps, you should hopefully be able to determine the cause of the issue and resolve it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi,
1. I have tried restarting my laptop multiple times to no avail.
2. This pen does not have a removable battery, so I can't do that.
3. I'm quite sure my drivers are up to date. I even tried updating my BIOS, but that didn't work either.
4. This pen does not seem to have Bluetooth support, it seems like it's supposed to just work out of the box without pairing.
5. There are no obvious signs of pen damage. Even tried replacing the tip, that didn't work either.
