HI all,

My HP MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen that I got with my spectre x360 a few years ago randomly stopped showing that it is charging. When I leave it plugged into the charger for a few hours the laptop doesn't register that a pen is even there. Does this mean that the internal battery or something is fully dead i.e. done for good?

I have tried recalibrating my pen driver settings etc but still nothing.

Can someone please help.

@Rico1ss, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check the Charging Cable and Port

Test the charger with another device to ensure it's working properly.

If possible, try a different USB-C cable or charging adapter.

Reinstall the Pen Driver

Open Device Manager (Windows + X > Device Manager).

Locate your Pen under Human Interface Devices or Mice and other pointing devices.

Right-click on your pen and select Uninstall device.

Restart your laptop to let Windows reinstall the driver automatically.

Try the Pen on Another Device

If possible, test the pen with another laptop or tablet that supports MPP 2.0 pens to check if the issue is with the pen itself or the laptop's ability to charge and detect the pen.

Check for Physical Damage

Examine the charging port on the pen and the charging cable for any signs of wear or physical damage.

If the charging port or internal battery has been damaged due to wear and tear or accidental drops, the pen might no longer be able to charge.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
