HP Notebook 15-dy1071wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Notebook 15-dy1071wm and I am trying to connect a HP USB Type-C Dock G5, so I can have 2 additional Monitors. My laptop can see the Docking station and can be turned off and on by it, but I cant get anything to come up on my external monitors which I have connected by display ports to hdmi connections. I get a windows warning that my "Display connection might be limited". I read in forums about DisplayPort Alt Mode. Would this somehow be my problem, or does anyone have any suggestions? I have a HP Zbook from work and it will work on the Dock just fine so I would Imagine its something on my laptop that needs to be configured unless for some reason its not compatible. Thanks for any help!

@Mcmattyo

Its specs

     https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06469325

It has  1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which is NOT compatible with the HP USB-C Gen 5 dock, full stop.

The dock clearly says "For USB-C™ functionality, host PC must support the DisplayPort™ Alt mode protocol through its USB-C™ port" which your machine does NT have.

Regards.
