Hi,

I have an HP Notebook 15s-fq1906nz and just acquired an HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock.

Drivers / Firmware has been updated, seems to work correcly (External Devices on USB, Network via RJ-45 connector)...but...external Monitors are not recognised / I tried both HDMI et Display Port

Basically, is my notebook supported ?

If yes, please provide some help - troubleshooting

The specs of your machine is

             https://support.hp.com/hk-en/document/c06513417

Its  USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port is NOT compatible with HP USB-C G5 dock.

As mentioned above, It ONLY has 1 hopeless USB-C port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Regards
