Dear ALl,

 

I am connecting my HP Omen that has 140W adapter, to the HP G5 Docking Station that has 120W power supply.

sometimes it stops charging; I need to disconnect/reconnect the Type-C cable to the notebook - then it starts charging.

 

Please advise, if is it ok to use 120W docking station for my notebook that has 140W genuine charging adapter?

Hi @davidgetia 

 

In general it is not recommended, you should use the same wattage in your case 140 watts as you use the AC charge. This does not damage the laptop but it will have charging problems.
