HP OMEN 15-dh0025ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have a laptop HP OMEN 15-dh0025ur with NVIDIA RTX 2080 Max Q video chip. Laptop is already out of warranty.

Two weeks ago while surfing the Internet the screen just gone black, the laptop rebooted and some artifacts (mainly flickering short horizontal lines) appeared all over the screen. The Windows Device Manager indicated that the video card is not properly working and Windows disabled the device. Deleting the device from Device Manager / reinstalling the video drivers does not fix the problem – the video card is still disabled in the device manager and artifacts are still on the screen. I have also run a video memory test from the BIOS diagnostic utility. The test did not show any errors with the memory.

The local laptop repairing service (not HP authorized, I do not have any HP authorized services at my town) indicated that probably video chip needs to be replaced.

Anyone else had this issue? Do I really need to replace the video chip or are there any other solutions available?

If the video chip needs to be replaced, are there any online shops to get the video chip?

Are you sure they can do just that ? You have to replace the whole system board which includes CPU and new Windows license

Regards.
