My HP Omen 15 is having some sort of display issue. I believe the culprit is the screen cable. Either the cable is loose or being pinched by the hinge. I have to open and close the lid numerous times and jiggle the screen until I can get it to work in the normal 90 degree position. It usually always works in the 45 degree position but that basically makes the screen unusable. When the screen is not working, the backlight is still lit, but not picture is displayed. Wiggling the screen while opening and closing it eventually gets it to work.
I've read about numerous hinge related issues with the Omen series, but my hinges don't seem loose, nothing broken, hinges are still nice and stiff, etc. Closest shop to me charges $100 for diagnostics, but if you know the issue and bring your own parts its much cheaper. Again, I believe its the screen cable, but if its being pinched or something I obviously don't want that to happen again. Anyone have any ideas. I don't want the repair shop to try and tell me its the GPU or that i need a new screen because i don't think either of those things are the issue. HDMI out works flawlessly even when the screen isn't working.
Hopefully someone has ideas, suggestions, etc.
