Product: HP ENVY 13-ba0000 Laptop PC series (1J6N4AV)

I have an HP Envy 13-ba0000 laptop.  I just purchased an HP OMEN 271 monitor.  The monitor is rated 2560 x 1440 @ 165.  However, the monitor will operate only at 1920 x 1080 @60 Hz.  Any thoughts regarding what could be wrong here?
