HP Pavilion 15-ec1467ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I just bought my new HP Pavilion Laptop and a USB-c Hub. All my USB devices like Mouse, Keyboard and Headset work perfectly fine and the LAN also works with the Hub. I have two external monitors that I would like to use and my Hub has 1 HDMI and 1 VGA connection. My Laptop doesn't recognize either one. The HDMI monitor is however able to display the signal from the intern HDMI connection of the laptop, even screen extension works. Is my USB-c connection not compatible with external monitors?

Thanks in advance!

@Gredda, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Nearly all HP Pavilion notebooks don't have a docking port therefore you can't get a docking station for your machine or for HP Pavilions. The specs of your machine are

HP Pavilion - 15-ec1467ng Product Specifications link

which shows it has

  • 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate);
  • 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only);
  • 1 AC smart pin;
  • 1 HDMI 1.4b;
  • 1 headphone/microphone combo;
  • 1 RJ-45

As you can see, its USB-C port does NOT support video out. At this stage, a docking station using USB-A ports still is a good choice. If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors, please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few options on market today including some HP products:

or try following HP docks
