HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop - 16-a0032dx
Microsoft Windows 11

Been attempting to work this problem out on my own for weeks now.  The laptop just stopped displaying on the screen one day.  It will display through an external monitor, play sounds, and when attempting to run the HP diagnostic tool, the LCD screen will turn back on through the laptop.  When turning on the laptop, the screen is backlit, but nothing displays.  It will only display when hooked up to an external monitor and duplicate the screen.  I have run through every diagnostic test possible with no error codes, I have opened up the machine and disconnected the battery.  The only thing of note that I can mention is that when doing that reset, the screen will display that there is a CMOS checksum that is invalid or something.  Except, to my knowledge, there is not a CMOS battery that is replaceable or anything of the sort inside the machine.  I have attempted to recover the BIOS to no avail either.  Drivers are all as updated as they could be.  The machine was originally in Windows 10, so I updated to see if it would fix, but nothing happened.  I have seen other people had to send their laptops in to HP for them to fix, but I would love to avoid doing so if possible.  Anybody know of a fix?

Updating the BIOS is recommended as standard maintenance of the computer. It can also help resolve the following issues:

      • An available BIOS update resolves a specific issue or improves computer performance.
      • The current BIOS does not support a hardware component or a Windows upgrade.
      • HP Support recommends installing a specific BIOS update.
