Product: HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg1000 IDS Base Model
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

Does this laptop support DP alt Mode via the USB-C?

 

after many hours on tech support with my new laptop it seems this is the issue.  Even though the spec says it supports video and display port, it seems that it does not support DP Alt Mode.  this seems to be the root of the issue.

 

can we confirm this?

Reading deeper into the community posts i find many post about simular issues for the last few years.  It seems based on the other posts that the documentation for these HP laptops "Says" it is Display Port compatible, however it seem that is not correct. i have not seen any of the posts related to video over usb-c / display port with confirmed resolutions.
