Hey,
My HP Pavilion Pen M23867 001, first time using it and I charged it up for overnight and the pen still shows 'amber' instead of 'green' (meaning its charged). Any suggestions on how I can sort this out? Oh and whats worse is the laptop was just exited the warranty period, so I'm annoyed I didn't test it out when I bought the laptop.

Hi @AmarAmZ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
It sounds frustrating that your HP Pavilion Pen is not indicating a full charge despite being charged overnight. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot this issue:
Verify the Charger and Cable:
- Ensure you’re using the original charger and cable provided with the pen or a compatible replacement.
- Test the cable and charger with another device to confirm they work properly.
Clean the Charging Contact Points:
- Gently clean the charging port and contact points on the pen and charger with a soft, dry cloth or an alcohol swab. Dirt or debris might interfere with charging.
Reset the Pen:
- If the pen has a reset option, press and hold the reset button (if available) for a few seconds to reset it.
Try Charging via a Different Power Source:
- Plug the charger into a different USB port or wall adapter to rule out issues with the current power source.
Check Battery Status:
- If your laptop has a tool to monitor pen battery levels (like the HP Pen Control app or Windows Bluetooth settings), check the pen’s battery status to confirm if it's actually low or just a display issue.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.

Hiya Irwin6,
Thank you for your reply.
I've done all the steps you've kindly suggested except 'check battery status' as the pen is simply not charging and is staying on a continuous solid amber light I genuinely believe this pen was a faulty from when I bought the laptop and but it's my fault for not testing it during the warranty period.
Any other suggestions?
Many thanks,
AmarAmZ
