Hi hp community,
Just that, I have a HP Pavilion dv6-7043cl Entertainment PC with the screen backlight on but no picture?
I've read this post here: https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/970705-dark-screen-in-hp-dv6-laptop
This post says that the screen is broke and should be replaced.
The only screen replacement specifically for this pc I found on Newegg here:
$60 is kind of expensive for this old of a pc.
I am wondering if there is any kind of fix that the link may have missed? Are there any keys to be pushed or combination of that would reset the screen so that it would work again?
With other laptops I have found that pushing certain keys will reset the monitor and or test it?
I haven't opened it up yet but will do that to see if I can find anything. I'll report back here if I do.
So, any advice here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
John
PS The laptop does work, when hooked up to another monitor through a hdmi it works fine.

@Johnz414 Welcome to HP Community!
Here's what you need to do, to identify the issue and resolve it accordingly:
- check if it works fine on an alternate/external monitor.
- If it works fine on an alternate screen, please Perform a hard reset, Attempt a BIOS recovery and then, Run the System Diagnostics tests.

I did attach another monitor through a HDMI port and did get a normal monitor image.
I also finally took the whole thing apart including reattaching the monitor cable and that seemed to get it to work.
It now is starting and running with a normal image on the monitor.
This case is then solved!
