Hi,
I am reviving my old HP Pavilion dv6000 series (dv6565us) laptop win7 64 bit. I have the following issues in the laptop:
1. The integrated webcam driver is incorrectly installed by a driver software tool. Imaging devices in device manager shows Chicony USB 2.0 camera which was not the original one and got wrongly installed. Need to get the correct webcam driver and software.
2. The onboard mic is also not working.
3. The PCMCIA adapter in device manager shows 2 lines each having Compaq PCMCIA controller and both have a small yellow icon (!) shown.
4. The onboard mic is also not working
5. Also need all drivers for win7 for this laptop in one place. Is the link available?
Does anyone have a resolution for the above?

You're very welcome.
The only thing I can help you with is how to identify which driver is for what device on the helpjet link.
Most of the HP drivers still reside on their FTP site, the link to is below...
The above site usually has a cva, html and exe file for each service pack (sp) number
You can find out info on a driver by either selecting the html file number or as a second resort, the cva file number.
Here is how you do it.
Let's take the BIOS update file from the helpjet site...the first file listed is sp4802436.exe
Drop the last two numbers from that file number and you are left with sp48024.
That will be the HP file number.
Look it up on the FTP site, and the html file gives the info on the file number.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48024.html
Then here is the exe file...
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48024.exe
It will take a while, but it is better than nothing.
So, using this method, you can identify what the driver is for instead of just downloading it and running it, to find out what it is for.
Good luck.

Hi:
HP only supported that model for Windows Vista, and since it is more than 10 years old, support for that model series has been retired.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the Windows Vista 64 bit drivers from this reputable 3rd party driver website.
https://www.helpjet.net/files-HP-Pavilion-dv6500t.html
You can also read this archived discussion on how to get W7 to work on that model series...

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply.
From this link https://www.helpjet.net/files-HP-Pavilion-dv6500t.html, I do not understand which driver is for which device. I am looking for camera, mic and COMPAQ PCMCIA controller specifically but others may also be of use.
From the other link (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Archive-Read-Only/Windows-7-Upgrade-Guide-for-dv6000-dv9000-m...) I tried installing the camera. It shows a green colour for a major part of the screen and at the top a slight image is shown.
I tried to uninstall the camera. On reboot it showed that an HP Web camera was appearing disconnected and then showed another message saying that Chicony USB2.9 camera was successfully installed.
The product number for this laptop is not recognized on the support page
Please suggest.
