My laptop is HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1179tu (Product number: 231T1PA). I have a monitor that is plugged into the laptop's HDMI port. I plan to buy a second monitor. Before I do that, I would like to know if the USB-C port supports video ouptut so I can buy USB-C to HDMI adapter to connect to the second laptop. Can someone please clarify if laptop's USB-C support video ouput?

Doe to $$$, I have not tested USB-C to HDMI with DisplayLink chip but I think that should work.
Regards.

Its specs
http://www.gbshpworld.com/hp-pavilion-x360-14-dh1179tu.html
It has one hopeless USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
Other option: HP 3005pr dock

Hi Banhien,
Thanks for your quick response. Per specs (shown below), both Type C and A support data transfer only.
1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only)
Wouldn't Displaylink Certified USB-C to HDMI work instead of using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI?
Thanks!
