I have a HP Pavilion x360 laptop & it is only 18 months old, but of course, out of warranty. I bought it from Amazon & there was no extended warranty offered.
While opening the laptop a few small parts fell out & I found that the bottom part of the touchscreen is loose, as it is sticking out a few mms from the backing of the right side of the bottom corner. The problem gets worse when I open the laptop. The screen itself is not damaged, & it is working. The right hinge is also loose.
The laptop was not dropped, it ALWAYS travels in a cushioned laptop sleeve.
After seeing the same issue logged by multiple users, we can conclude that this is a manufacturing defect. The rep at the repair shop I took it to even said it is a known problem but that HP will not acknowledge this. They are charging me over $500 to fix it & I only paid a little over $700 when I bought it new! I would like some satisfaction from HP!!! This is ridiculous!

Hi @eb00,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!

praveenbv I am in Colorado. As I said in my community post, I KNOW that my laptop is out of warranty. But this is obviously a problem with this model & should be taken care of by HP. The HP authorized repair shop I took it to SAID it was a known problem but that HP would not acknowledge that! That is unacceptable customer service. I would have assumed that a company as large and as old as HP would treat their customers better!

HP customer service is a joke!! Apparently those tasked with replying to messages in the community never read the previous messages from their co-workers. HP used to be a reputable company with a good reputation. No longer! I will NEVER buy another HP product as long as the company continues on this reprehensible path. My laptop has a KNOWN problem that has been reported multiple times in the community & even verified by the HP authorized repair shop to which I took it, but HP STILL will not acknowledge the problem & has offered absolutely no solution/satisfaction to this issue.
