Hi there,
My laptop has randomly stopped turning off the screen when left alone for a period of time. This is obviously not ideal when I want to leave background processes running (e.g. downloads) and want to sleep in the same room because it lights up the entire room. Also I'm concerned that the images may burn into my display.
I checked the settings by selecting "Choose when to turn off the screen" and have made sure that it is set to "2 minutes" under Power & Sleep | Screen | "On battery power, turn off after..."
Note I do not necessarily want the computer to go to sleep after 2 minutes, just turn off the display. Under Sleep | "On battery power, PC goes to sleep after..." I have selected 'Never.'
Does anyone know why this might be happening?
I have tried running an Avira full system virus scan, which came up clean, and running Spybot Portable, which again came up clean.
I am not the most technical person so simple answers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Ainsley
