The pen that comes with the laptop is not changing the led color from amber red to white even if plugged in to charge for days.

Hi @oliverferrer003 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the LED on your HP Pen (L93571-B23) staying amber red instead of turning white indicates that the pen might not be charging correctly. Here are some steps to diagnose and resolve the issue:

1. Check the Charger and Cable

  • Ensure you are using the correct charger and cable that came with the pen or a compatible one.
  • Test the charger and cable with another device to confirm they are working.

2. Inspect the Pen’s Charging Port

  • Examine the charging port on the pen for dust, dirt, or debris. Clean it gently with a soft, dry cloth or compressed air.
  • Ensure the cable is securely connected to the pen.

3. Confirm the Pen is Properly Aligned

  • If the pen uses a magnetic charging dock or cradle, ensure it is properly aligned and seated correctly.

4. Reset the Pen

  • Some smart pens have a reset function. Look for a small pinhole or button on the pen and hold it down with a paperclip for about 10 seconds, then try charging again.

5. Check the Battery Status

  • If your HP laptop has a tool like HP Smart or a dedicated app for managing the pen, use it to check the battery status. This can confirm whether the pen is charging.

6. Try a Different Power Source

  • Plug the pen into a different USB port or wall adapter to rule out an issue with the original power source.

7. Inspect for Physical Damage

  • Look for signs of damage to the pen, charging port, or cable. Physical issues may require repair or replacement.

8. Update Firmware

  • If applicable, check for firmware updates for your HP Pen through the HP Support Assistant or the laptop settings.

9. Test Another Pen (if available)

  • If you have access to another HP Pen, try charging it with the same setup to determine if the issue lies with the pen or the charging equipment.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have done all your recommendations and I hope you provide specific suggestions for the model since it's indicated in my question. Unless you also don't know what you're talking about. These are all same recommendations for years in this community that don't really resolve the issue.
