HP Prodesk 400 G6 SFF only has one Display Port, and two USB-A SS ports. I have 2 monitors that only have HDMI that I want to connect in extended mode. How do I do that?

Hi @GrandpaG

It depends on your model, but in both cases, whether optional or not, you have a DisplayPort where you can connect with a DisplayPort to HDMI cable. If you have a USB-C port, you can connect another monitor there.

Ports and Connectors
Front: 1 headset connector; 2 SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps signaling rate
Rear: 1 audio-in; 1 audio-out; 1 DisplayPort™ 1.2; 1 power connector; 1 RJ-45; 1 VGA; 2 SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps signaling rate; 4 USB 2.0

Optional Ports: 1 HDMI 2.0; 1 serial; 1 DisplayPort™ 1.2; 1 parallel; 1 serial and PS/2 ports combination; 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (DisplayPort™); 1 VGA

Hi, it has no USB-C ports. But it seems I can buy an adaptor that would go from a USB-A SS port to HDMI.

Does that work? Does this model of desktop support MST, which I understand is required to get the monitors to display independently, i.e. in extended mode?

None of the USB-A ports are compatible with DisplayPort, and none of the USB-A ports can transmit images.
