The pen otherwise functions as intended and is charged fully to 100%. I tried using apps like OneNote's pencil and highlighter, as well as turning on tilt in GIMP, but tilt seems to not be working in any case. I've tried replacing the tips, and looking around online for answers, but to no avail. PS: Are the exchangeable tips any different, or are they intended as spares?

Hi @badgerous
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with the tilt functionality of your HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen. Since the pen works well otherwise, it's possible that the tilt sensor itself might be malfunctioning, or there could be a software or driver issue.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
Update Drivers: Ensure that all your drivers, especially for the pen and graphics tablet, are up to date. You can check the HP support website for the latest drivers specific to your device.
Calibration: If your device has a calibration tool for the pen, run that to see if it helps with tilt detection.
Software Settings: Double-check the settings in the applications you are using (like OneNote or GIMP). Make sure tilt is enabled and that the software supports it correctly.
Test on Different Devices/Apps: Try using the pen on a different device or with another app that supports tilt input to see if the issue persists.
Battery and Connection: Even though it's fully charged, try disconnecting and reconnecting the pen to refresh the connection.
Regarding the exchangeable tips, they are usually intended as spares and might vary slightly in material or hardness, but they typically serve the same basic function. If they are not registering tilt, it’s likely not related to the tips themselves.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for the reply. I've followed all the steps provided as well as many other troubleshooting tips, until I tried to verify compatibility which led me to come to the conclusion that my HP Pavilion x360 14-dh1004nx Does not support tilt functionality. The laptop was purchased in 2019, and I've looked at specification and compatibility sheets, but I couldn't find any information specifically verifying the compatibility of the pen. The touchscreen can register pressure and touch inputs, but not tilt inputs. I haven't been able to find someone with a device I could test it on, but I don't suspect any issue with the pen. Thank you for your time and I apologize for the inconvenience.
PS: The pen does not support Bluetooth, but the Tilt is meant to work without it. As for the tips, they do seem to be simple spares and are identical. I've tried all spares, but changing them makes no difference.
