In the process of a move, the USB-C to USB-C cable for my S14 was lost or recycled. I bought a standard USB-C to USB-C cable at Staples but, even though my computer recognized something was plugged in, the display is telling me USB-C Video is Inactive and that the Input Signal is Not Found.
Is there a certain specification USB-C cable I need, or do I need the OEM cable? If I need the OEM cable, can someone provide me the part number?

I have the same problem. I've now tried two cables that claimed to be replacement parts for the original cable, and neither were able to transmit video. I just ordered what I think will be the right one, but I'll report back here one way or another.
I still have my (old, broken) cable, so I can tell you all the info on the tag in case you want to poke around more:

Hello again,
Just following up to say that I got a cable from "Cable Matters" on Amazon, and it is working great. (USB 3.1 Gen 2, 100W, 10 Gbps, Model number 201025) https://a.co/d/2ah1kRR
