Hello everyone, I've been very happy with my new device the past weeks. However what I did notice when using it in dark rooms, was that the screen brightness sort of fluctuates and flickers around especially in dark areas on the screen when I move the mouse or anything is animated on screen. This led to me trying to find out why this is the case which brought me to Intel Panel Self Refresh. The feature seems to be responsible for flickering a lot. So I proceeded with trying to find out how to disable it.
This led me to the intel graphics command center where an option for deactivating PSR and DPST exists. I turned both off and thought that would do it, but unfortunately it didn't. The feature still randomly activates in the shadow and the screen starts flickering again. However, when this happens, the option in the command center is NOT switched to on. I then have to turn it on and off again and the flickering will stop. I tried lots of things, also followed guides about how to permanently disable said features in the registry, such as:
https://mikebattistablog.wordpress.com/2016/05/27/disable-intel-dpst-on-sp4/
https://dancharblog.wordpress.com/2019/04/14/disable-intel-dpst-adaptive-contrast-brightness-on-new-...
However, the problem still occurs which brings me to the conclusion, that there has to be a bug in the firmware or some driver of the device. Anyone else experienced something similar? The flickering is very subtle and most of the time just noticeable when the environment and the screen are dark. However, it still drives me crazy.
Thanks!
