Hello Community,
I own a HP Spectre 360 (13-4179ng with Intel Graphics 520) which I would like to run with an external monitor, preferrably with an ultrawide monitor. I am not sure which kind of monitors would be suitable for that purpose. I am currently looking at the LG 34 UB67-B (21:9, 2,560 x 1,080 ). But again, I am not sure if my Spectre (1.920 x 1.080) would be able to use the full screen of a 21:9 monitor.
Basically I would like to know, what specifications of the notebook limits the selection of external monitors. May be I could also combine the Spectre with a 4k monitor?
Thanks for your input.

The HP Spectre x360 40xx and 41xx series machines have
- HDMI 1.4b port supporting up to 1920×1200 at 60 Hz only
- DisplayPort 1.2 port supporting higher resolution
I believe DP 1.2 supports 21:9 monitors. Please check the following note first
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort
In short, you can't use direct HDMI port, you have to use DP connection.
Regards.
