I have an HP Spectre x360 Convertable | Model No: 15-eb1043dx
The camera believe it or not, cannot be found on the computer, it got deleted somehow... no drivers, nothing.
When I go to the Device Manager, there is nothing about cameras or imaging. When I go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Camera, it says, "No cameras found." if I search for cameras, same same, no cameras found.

Hi @middlemann,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the camera on your HP Spectre x360 Convertible is not being detected and appears to be missing from the Device Manager, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Here's a guide to help you.
Check for Physical Camera Cover:
- Some laptop models, including the HP Spectre x360, have physical camera covers. Ensure that the camera cover is not physically blocking the camera lens.
BIOS/UEFI Settings:
- Restart your laptop and access the BIOS/UEFI settings. Check if there's an option to enable or disable the camera. If it's disabled, enable it and save the changes.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, driver updates are delivered through Windows Update.
Reinstall Camera Drivers:
- Even if you don't see the camera in Device Manager, you can try reinstalling the camera drivers.
- Go to the HP support website, enter your laptop's model, and download the latest camera drivers.
- Install the downloaded drivers and restart your laptop.
Check Device Manager Again:
- After restarting, check Device Manager again. Look for the camera under "Imaging devices" or "Cameras." If the camera is still not listed, proceed to the next steps.
HP Support Assistant:
- Use HP Support Assistant (if you have it installed) to check for and install any missing drivers or updates for your laptop.
System Restore:
- If the issue started recently, you can use System Restore to revert your system to a point where the camera was working. This will not affect your personal files but will roll back system settings.
Windows Troubleshooter:
- Run the built-in Windows troubleshooter for hardware and devices.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Hardware and Devices.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Ensure that there is no physical damage to the camera. If you suspect physical damage.
Remember to back up important data before performing any major changes or system restores.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
