Hi @panchalh84,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the color display on your HP Spectre x360 laptop is changing when you open new applications or browsers, there are a few potential reasons for this behavior. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Check Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
  • Ensure that the display settings are configured correctly. Check the color profile, resolution, and other display-related settings.

Graphics Driver:

  • Make sure your graphics driver is up to date. Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues.
  • Visit the HP support website or use the Device Manager to update your graphics driver.

Color Calibration:

  • Windows has a built-in color calibration tool. Search for "Color Calibration" in the Start menu and follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate your display.

Disable Adaptive Brightness:

  • Some laptops have a feature called "Adaptive Brightness" or "Adaptive Display" that adjusts the screen brightness based on ambient light. Disable this feature to see if it resolves the color-changing issue.

Check for Malware:

  • Run a thorough antivirus and anti-malware scan on your laptop to rule out the possibility of malicious software affecting your display settings.

Hardware Defect:

  • If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it could be a hardware problem.

Restore Default Color Settings:

  • If you've made any custom color adjustments, try restoring the default color settings to see if it resolves the issue.

Update Operating System:

  • Ensure that your operating system is up to date with the latest updates and patches.

External Factors:

  • Consider external factors that may affect your display, such as external monitors, lighting conditions, or magnetic interference.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
