I am looking at buying the HP Spectre x360 and have a question about the screen. I'd be buying the HD screen model (13.3" screen diag.). I need to know how well the screen is visible in direct sunlight? I will be using mine for work which will take me outside and want to make sure the screen is viewable in sunlight. Nobody at HP can answer that question other than to tell me the screen is anti-glare. Can a few of you take yours outside for a minute and let me know if they can 'easily' see the screen in direct sunlight (may need to raise the brightness on the screen)?
I have been using touchscreen tablets for work since 2002, so I want to make sure this Spectre HP unit will do what I need it to do.
A few other questions..
1. When the unit is folded into tablet mode, does the keyboard turn OFF? This allows only touchscreen and/or pen input and prevents accidentally hitting keys from the underside.
2. When the pen is used, does the touchpad and touch-scree both turn off automatically? This would prevent your hand from confusing the screen when you are tring to only use the pen for input.
Thanks.
Matt

Hi Matt,
Did you end up getting a Spectre x360? How does the screen work for you?
I'm surprised that HP folks told you it's an anti-glare screen, I'm pretty sure it's only available in glossy. At least that's true for the 15.6" model I've been considering. The glossy (glare) screen is the major thing holding me back. I wish HP would offer a factory-installed anti-glare screen option, like Lenovo does with the ThinkPad X1 Yoga. A factory-installed anti-glare screen is much better than an aftermarket one for folks like me who have never installed a decal without getting air bubbles beneath it.
If you've found an aftermarket screen that works well for you I'd be interested.
Thanks,
Frank

My HP Spectre 360 (just bought it) is HORRIBLE in direct sunlight. It has a glossy screen, which doesn't help, but so does my smart phone, and I can view that fine. There's something about the brightness level (whether that's an HP or Windows 10 thing) that makes it almost impossible to work with outside.
Does anyone know how to boost brightness in Windows 10? I'm at 100% and can barely read the screen

If you have the screen brightness set at 100%, that is as far as it goes. It is easy to read outside (brightness compared to sunshine) which was what my original question was asking about. The glass screen cover does, at times, make it a little tough to read, but that is a reflection issue, not a brightness issue.
