HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0008tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Does anyone have a display issue with the SureView Screen on the HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0008tu?  When I activate the SureView using the F1 function key I get a very bright screen that is lit in an uneven way across the screen.  It makes it very hard to read.  Lowering the brightness doesn’t help.

Welcome to HP forums.

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community.

I reviewed the case regarding issues with the computer. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Follow this document which will provide you detailed instructions about the sureview.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. 😉

None of those instructions actually apply to my laptop.  Did you actually read my post?  It was absolutely no help at all.

I am fairly sure that what you're experiencing is normal, and is just an artifact of the sureview screen. Light from the backlight is being directed differently than when sureview is off, making it hard to read when viewing from an angle. A defect of this is that it's likely more challenging to read head on; it's not a feature that should be used 100% of the time, only when you're working on something in public that needs to be protected against prying eyes.
