HP Tilt Pen

Hi,

I have just brought a HP tilt pen and it is not allowing me to turn it onto pen mode. There is a constant green light or a flashing blue light but I am unable to find a constant blue light which would indicate that pen mode is turned on. How can I get the pen to stay in pen mode?

thanks

Welcome to HP Forums,

Let's get straight to it!

There's something you need to know about the stylus:

see Touch Screen Stylus Pen Is Inaccurate or Stops Working.

Before you use the above link, ensure the tilt pen is compatible:

  • An active stylus (also known as a digital stylus) uses a digitizer built into the screen to allow communication between the touch screen and the pen. An active stylus might support many or all of the functions supported by a mouse, such as right-click, hover, and more. Many active stylus models can block stray marks from your hand resting on the screen or the sweep of your palm while writing so that the screen only registers marks made by the pen.

Non-HP branded active styluses are not supported on HP computers and might not be compatible.

  • passive stylus (also known as a capacitive stylus) functions the same as your finger on the screen. Passive styluses do not require batteries, and they work on any touch screen device.

While the non-HP branded passive stylus is not supported by HP, most will work with HP touchscreen computers and tablets.

Keep me posted, as I (Or a trusted colleague) shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,

And your device is up and running again, only in case you don't get back to us, first!

That'll help us, and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Spoiler
Hi,

Thank you for your reply.
It is the HP tilt stylus so is an active stylus. It charges and goes onto presentation mode and connects with the bluetooth on my computer but pen mode, as indicated by a single blue light, isnt working. There is a blue flashing light and a single green light and I am able to control the computer with presentation mode but I brought the product to use as a pen to make notes which I haven't been able to do. I don't know if it may just be a faulty product or I am not using it properly? I have read the instructions carefully and been online and I can't see where I may be going wrong.

many thanks

I understand it's an active pen, however, the details I had mentioned was to help you understand that it may or may not be compatible with the device you are using it with, perhaps you can check the last link I shared for details, or to make it easier, please share the model/product name of your computer and I'll check if its compatible for you.

Note: Please ensure the complete product name/number for a quicker response from the community, as we need to know what we are dealing with to provide an accurate solution: Click here for steps on finding the information we need!

Remember: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Yes, sorry, I have a HP envy x360.

I did research before buying the pen to check it was compatable with my computer. The computer seems to respond when I press buttons on the pen when the pen is in presentation mode so I assume it is the pen which is the problem, not connectivity with the computer?

thanks

@GabbieReid27 I'll need the complete model name to identify if it's compatible, that said, is there a way you can try the pen with an alternate device to check if it works? let me know.

Meanwhile, you may also check the user guide for the HP Tilt Pen for details: Click here for the information.

And also check the advisory to resolve the issue: Click here

Hi,

thank you for your replies, however, the pen is working with the computer in presentation mode but just isn’t turning to pen mode so I know it is the pen which is at fault and nothing to do with the computer.

I just need to know whether to send it back for a replacement or whether I am doing something wrong. Or how to turn it to pen mode.

Thank you
