Loading updated drivers for the internal HP Truevision web camera crashes all webcam functionality on all applications on my laptop. The driver updates are HP True Vision 5MP Camera and HP IR Camera dated 6/30/2022. There are no security or permission obstacles to full functionality of the camera, these have been checked and re-checked. Firmware updates and AMD Ryzen updates have been installed. A complete rollback to the restore point is necessary to return to full functionality.
---> And this failure still occurs on a completely clean re-install of Windows, not just a factory reset (yes, this issue has taken up a lot of time without resolution, time which can't ever be retrieved).
Does anyone else have this problem?
Is there a solution?
This issue arises on an HP x360 Envy laptop with the following system
