Hi @Soafa,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with webcam issues, especially after an update. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem with your HP TrueVision camera:

1. Check Device Manager

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  • Look for Imaging Devices and find your webcam.
  • Right-click on it and select Update Driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

2. Roll Back Driver

If the webcam worked fine before the upgrade, you might want to roll back the driver:

  • In Device Manager, right-click on the webcam and select Properties.
  • Go to the Driver tab and see if the Roll Back Driver option is available.

3. Uninstall and Reinstall Driver

  • In Device Manager, right-click on the webcam and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

4. Privacy Settings

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
  • Ensure that camera access is enabled for the apps you're trying to use.

5. Windows Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

6. Check for Windows Updates

  • Sometimes further updates can fix issues caused by previous ones. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

7. HP Support Assistant

  • Download and run the HP Support Assistant from the HP website. It can help identify issues and recommend drivers.

8. Alternative Drivers

If the above steps don’t work, you can search for HP TrueVision camera drivers directly from the HP support website. Enter your laptop model and check for camera drivers.

9. Restore to Previous Version

As a last resort, if the webcam worked before the upgrade, you could consider restoring Windows to a previous version before the update:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery and select Get started under Go back to the previous version of Windows 10.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
