Hi,
So our company currently ordered a bunch of HP USB-C G5 docking stations because of laptop replacements.
Most of our workers now have 850 G8s, and the returning problem is, that they have two display ports plugged into the dock (for two external displays) when they start the system it takes minutes until one of the display is turned on and even more time until the other. It also has the habit of dropping one or even both of the monitors for no reason.
I've installed the dock's driver (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-usb-c-dock-g5/27767205) and also searched for updates in HP System Assistant, but the problem stands still.
Can you provide us with any help, please?
Regards,
Buda

If you are using HP brand monitors, you may want to try an alternate and later model.
What model monitors are you having issues with? We recently purchased 16 of this series (72C71AA#ABA) and have found that specific HP monitors are not working with the DisplayPort interfaces on the HP dock. Our issue is that Windows 10 (Enterprise 2012H2) registers the presence of the monitors, however there is no signal input sensed by the monitor. We are experiencing this using the EliteBook 8xx G5/G6/G8, and the Zbook 15 G6 laptops. Interestingly, the issue only occurs with the EliteDisplay 231 (C9V79A), while use of the contemporaneous Z23i and later model Z23n and E243 do not have this issue and show up immediately.
This is particularly frustrating in as much as the E231's work fine with the HP Ultraslim dock, as well as other off-brand USB-C docks equipped with DisplayPort interfaces.
