First things first primarily this monitor purchased for use on my xbox one x this is also my first monitor.
Now there is a panel on the back ... which once you select your colour mode it is very limited in it's ability to calibrate the picture on that colour mode.
So i noticed it suggest using omen gaming hub as os to calibrate your tv it mentioned something about nvidia and it also has amd freesync premium anywayyyyyy!
i plugged the monitor in through and old laptop which has windows 8.1 runnning as it's os and i updated as much as i could and let it run all day doing so...
I had no idea what i was doing or where i was meant to look or what i was looking for. But after a whole day reading through threads and forums watching youtube channels even using hp's website to an extent in regards to them confirm windows has dispaly profiles you can use ....
Now all this brings me to my first question and i find this to be the most important i did try and update the driver on this monitor via my asus laptop running windows 8.1 and in events under display properties of this monitor it has a message stating a display driver or profile had been updated at some point that day and that this monitor is updated...
i did use the calibration tool which ultimately asked me to use the native colour setting on the monitor and go through the step by step calibration guide it really only allowed me to change the gamma and then i completed that.
it also has an intel control panel which allows you to change hue a saturationn gamma brightness and contrast which i left default for now.
Question 1
What i want to know is the displays drivers been updated and and me runnning the calibration tool to the native colour mode. When i unplug my monitor and then plug my xbox into the monitor same hdmi port .... when i use the native setting as the colour mode to view the xbox video signal will the display driver that the laptop updated and i then calibrated to the native colour mode will the gamma adjustment and the updated driver now apply to the xboxs video signal now that the laptop is disconnected????
Question 2
whilst using my xbox there is a gaming colour setting does that colour mode have any advantages to using it whilst gaming or is it just a colour setting ....
referencing my previous native calibrations on the laptop should i use the native mode and find a better operatiung system and calibrate the native mode with aomen gaming hub control panel or a better intel one or a nvidia control panel or liek th hp website states given the operating software model windows has there own display profiles that will apply to my x32 monitor... again would those windows models drivers and profiles apply to my display after disconnectiong to the pc used to calibrate it and then work when i plugged in my xbox ?????
sidenote
if i have to be honest the custom rgb on the x32 seems to looks the most genuine colour out of all the colour settings and obviously i then have the ability to adjust the red greens and blues .... should i be using the native , gaming or custom rgb colour mode for my xboxs video signal ... i am looking to then have the most true colour and to begin with deciding on what is my next question revolving around respond time refresh rates and frames
Question 3
If someone who actually knows how to answersmy question 1 and 2 i would not only be very happy that they answer me with that content but they would also most certainly have the understanding and knowledfe to and be able to assist me on this last question.
once i work out what colour mode is best to use and whether i can change drivewrs and calibrated that colour mode pre the xbox signal to the monitor. When i finally have my xbox plugged into it will be in runnin1440p @120hz refresh rate colour space selected will be pc rgb and running at 10 colour bit 30 bits per pixel.... the reason being without selecting the 4.2.2 chroma sampling option the formatr i just stated is the highest possible settings that will be within the paramates of me using a hdmi 2.0 cable ....
now in regards to the monitor free sync and mrpt ....
most games dont go higher then 60 frames per second on console
also SIDENOTE my xbox has a full hd free of space and i run everytjhing of ssdrives and a wired connection which gives 9ms ping to most games 12 at the most...
am i better of syncing my xbox with amd freesync premium and locking frames at 75 or keeping them synced or.. should use the mprt motion blur black scaling tech and and let the xbox and monitor try and refresh at 120hz a second... or is my hpx32 165hz 1ms repsone time gaming monitor better to be left run with no amd free sync or mprt mode selected...
I understand this is a huge amount of information and ideas but there is no one place this can be answered correctly not that i have found so far. But if someone from HP or someone who can correctly answer my first two questions allowing me to choose the best format in which i can setup up my monitor for gaming for fps games on xbox console... then surely someone from hp can answer my questions in regards to if my monitor is best trying to refresh 120 hz without any amd freesync on or mrpt modes selected????????
also a setting i need answered in conlusion the response time setine trhat is labeled 1, 2 fast 3 , 4 fastest..... once i can determine normal 120 hz , freesyc or mrpt modes and colour settings ... what does the response time setting mean and how will selecting them apply to my final settings ... because i have read that it can completely thow a game plays if you select the wrong response time by the value of 1

All updated drivers stay on your computer, not the Xbox. Only firmware if any may stay on the monitor. Updates are useless on the xBox.
Hope this makes sense.

Okay. Are you able to update firmware? I actually discovered today after i wrote this post using a better calculator then the exron bandwidth calculator that running 1440p @ 120hz pc rgb 10 bit colour from a hdmi 2.0 to the monitor's hdmi 2.0 port.... Won't work properly as the max refresh rate for that video signal is 109.something hz... And that changing to 8 bit colour depth max refresh rate is 160hz. Since doing this i realised using free sync or mrpt isn't necessary. As the xbox and monitor are both synced at120 hz and it was obvious that this correct because my gaming experience was unlike anything i've experienced since i've purchased it a week ago!!
