The display orientation changes every other week from "Landscape" to "Portrait". How can I avoid this? I do not see the option "Rotation Lock" under Settings -> Display -> "Scale and Layout". I only see the "Display orientatin" drop down.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!
If your HP ZBook Fury changes its display orientation randomly, it's typically caused by a software glitch or sensor issue. Here are steps to resolve the problem:
-
Check Orientation Lock:
- Go to the display settings by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "Display settings."
- Look for the "Rotation lock" option and toggle it on. This prevents automatic screen rotation.
-
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support Website and search for your device model to check for the latest graphics drivers.
- Download and install the latest graphics drivers compatible with your ZBook Fury model.
-
Adjust Motion Sensor Settings (if applicable):
- Some devices may have motion sensors that detect physical orientation. Ensure these are working correctly in the HP Support Assistant or any related software.
-
Disable Auto-Rotate Using the Settings App (if applicable):
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to “System” > “Display” and search for the option to disable automatic rotation if it's available.
-
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure your Windows operating system is up-to-date, as updates can fix bugs related to rotation and display.
-
Keyboard Shortcuts:
- Sometimes accidental activation of keyboard shortcuts might change screen orientation.
Ctrl+Alt+ Arrow keys usually control rotation. Ensure these aren't causing unintended changes.

-
Check for External Influences:
- If you are using a docking station or external monitors, ensure all connections are secure and switch off display management software like display managers from third-party peripherals.
-
Perform a Power Reset:
- Turn off your laptop, disconnect all external devices, unplug the power adapter, and remove the battery (if removable). Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, then reconnect everything and start the laptop again.
I hope this helps!
Take care and have an amazing day!
