Product: Pavilion x360
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The screen suddenly went black a few days ago. The problem is with the display since it works with an external display. Even the touch screen works. Looking through other answers, figured out the the problem is with the backlight of the screen.

Hi David,

 

The laptop is ab HP pavilion x360 m Convertible model 14m-ba011dx. Unfortunately it is just out of the 1 year warrenty for the device. The laptop itself is less than 2 years old.

Hi,

It is going to be an expensive fix.

The part number for the screen is 925447-001

You can try HP parts store

or perform an online search with part number and find a compatible part.

 

On page 61 (point 3) of the service manual you can see how to replace the screen.
