HO Spectre x360 convertible 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Purchased an Hp laptop 2 months ago and it came with the HP stylus Pen.  The pen worked good for a while until the other day it quit working.   Figured the battery went dead, but a little soon I thought.   Changed the battery and still does not work.  It isn't Bluetooth so not sure how to get it to work again.   Please help.

I understand that the stylish pen is not working.

 

Do not worry I will try to fix the issue.

 

Please provide the correct product number of your laptop as well as the pen product number.

 

After reviewing your post regarding the Active pen, I would suggest you update the Bios and Chipset drivers on your PC from our HP Support website, using this link.

I would recommend you install the latest HP Pen control: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80001-80500/sp80343.exe

 

Also, download and install the HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

 

Refer to this link to know how to use the HP support assistant.

 

If the issue persists, uninstall the keyboard drivers from the device manager and restart the computer.

  • Please right-click on start>select device manager>Expand Keyboards>Right-click on the listed drivers and uninstall them. Then restart the computer and check again if the issue is fixed.
  • If it continues, please replace the stylus battery and check again if it gets resolved.
  • If it persists, please try to perform the prescribed troubleshooting steps from this link: HP PCs - Touch Screen Stylus Pen Is Inaccurate or Stops Working
