My laptop's half screen has turned grey. I can still see the things on the background. Upper half of the screen has the problem. Lower half working totally fine.

The problem is still there during the BOOT time.

When I attach it to external monitor, the same problem is happening there but in totally opposite area. Upper half is fine, lower half is distorted.

Since the problem persists on both internal and external displays, you seem to have a problem with the gravhics adapter (video card). If your laptop is still under warranty, contact local service center.
