Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Bought a brand new HP laptop. Been opening it and closing it properly for months now. Went to open it, the hinge was loose and caused a crack around the surrounding parts. Screen still works. Laptop cant be closed. Called HP, told me it was a "cosmetic crack" and would need to pay 299.99 for the fix but I would get free expedited shipping and handling. I asked about my factory warranty and was told it was not covered. I proceeded to tell her it wasnt my fault the hinge was loose and cracked. She kept mentioning how physical damage was not covered under standard warranty. So of course I got mad. The laptop was not dropped, and that nothing accidentally happened to it. So kept saying the same thing over and over about physical damage not being covered. So I wanted her to explain to me how a poorly manufactured product that ive had since june of 2019 was not covered. It has been opened and closed the same way since june 2019. So she said they will send me a box to have it mailed. If they deem me at fault, I pay the 299.99 or if they deem it covered under warranty then no charge. 😤😤😤😤😤
