HP Recommended

Hi everyone,

I purchased an HP OmniBook 7 in the first week of June 2026. Around the second week of July, while using the laptop normally, horizontal lines appeared at the top of the display. Initially, the issue disappeared after a restart, and the display worked normally when the screen was kept at a particular angle. The very next day, the issue became persistent—the screen started showing continuous lines, occasionally became blurred, and was almost unusable.

HP representative opened the display assembly for checking. After that, the screen turned completely black. I was informed that the display needs to be replaced after escalation as well, but the repair would not be covered under the factory warranty as it was classified as physical damage.

The laptop is only 50 days old and has never been dropped or physically damaged. There are no dents, scratches, or any visible signs of external damage. I only have the standard factory warranty (no ADP).

Has anyone faced a similar situation? Can this warranty decision be reviewed or escalated if there is no evidence of physical damage?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I Understand your concern about the experience you've had with your notebook, and to encounter display issues.

To better review your concern since you mentioned that the case was previously escalated. Could you kindly send us the case ID/reference number via private message so that we can review the service records and escalation notes associated with your case?

If possible, kindly also share clear pictures of the laptop display, including the horizontal lines (if visible), the current screen condition, and the overall physical condition of the device. These images will help us better understand the issue and verify the observations recorded during the service assessment.
