I have a HP IPS monitor (M22f) that I bought last year. I see flickering bright horizontal lines at the bottom of my screen when connected to my PC. I checked with a different cable and also tried connecting a Macbook to it. Still seeing the same problem. It indicates that the problem is with the monitor and that it is likely a hardware issue. Are there any hardware remedies (resetting the clock, refresh rate, etc.) that I can do to fix the problem? Thanks.

Hi @Alerion,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
It’s frustrating when a relatively new monitor starts showing issues—let’s see if we can resolve this together!
- Have you noticed if the flickering lines appear immediately when the monitor powers on or only after a while?
- Does the issue persist if you reduce the resolution or refresh rate settings?
- Have there been any recent physical impacts or exposure to heat or humidity that could have affected the monitor?
Adjust Refresh Rate:
Go to your PC's display settings and try lowering the refresh rate (e.g., from 60Hz to 50Hz). This can sometimes resolve flickering issues.
Factory Reset the Monitor:
Access the monitor’s on-screen menu (OSD) using the buttons on the monitor, navigate to the settings, and look for a “Factory Reset” option. Resetting might resolve any misconfigured settings.
Check Power Supply and Connection:
Ensure the power cable and connection are secure. If possible, try using a different power outlet to rule out electrical interference.
Enable Overdrive (or Disable It):
Many monitors have an Overdrive setting in their OSD. Toggle this option to see if it has any effect on the flickering lines.
Inspect for Firmware Updates:
Check the HP support website to see if your M22f monitor has a firmware update available. A firmware update can address known issues or improve compatibility.
If these steps don’t work, it might be time to service or repair the unit.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Thank you for your response. I added a picture of the bright horizontal lines on the bottom of the screen in my original post. Yes I see the issue as soon as the monitor powers on. I reset the monitor using OSD and that seems to reduce the problem. Now I only see one bright horizontal line at the bottom of my screen. There has not been any change to the location of the monitor.
I see other posts with similar issues with IPS monitors. Is this a known issue?
