HP Envy 13-ad1xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased an HP Envy 13-ad1xx (from Costco): https://m.costco.com/.product.100381392.html

I have a 4k external monitor connected through an Insignia brand USB-C to HDMI adapter.

I also have my external speakers (2.1) connected to the back of my monitor and am sending my audio through HDMI.

The reason for this is because my speakers have a standard 3 ring connector and the laptop has a 4 ring hole (audio out and microphone in). But, the monitor has a 3 ring output connector on the back.

I'm getting horrible screen flickering!

The solution was to buy a 4 ring audio splitter to audio out and microphone in cable.

By plugging in my speakers to the audio splitter and then directly into the laptop, I have eliminated the screen flickering.

I'm using this now: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076S6BS51/
