Hi @JoelChoi,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To change your HP 25x 24.5-inch display to 144Hz and ensure it stays at that refresh rate when you use your PS5, follow these steps.
For PC:
Open Display Settings:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
Access Advanced Display Settings:
- Scroll down and click on "Advanced display settings."
Change Refresh Rate:
- Under "Refresh rate," select 144Hz from the drop-down menu.
Apply and Confirm:
- Click "Apply" to change the refresh rate and confirm if prompted.
For PS5:
Check HDMI Cable:
- Make sure you're using a high-speed HDMI cable that supports 144Hz.
Adjust PS5 Video Output Settings:
- Go to "Settings" > "Screen and Video" > "Video Output."
- Ensure the "Resolution" is set to match your monitor’s native resolution (e.g., 1080p).
Check for HDR Settings:
- If you use HDR, ensure your monitor and PS5 settings are correctly configured for HDR.
For Monitor Settings:
Access Monitor Menu:
- Use the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) menu to adjust settings.
Find Refresh Rate Settings:
- Navigate to settings related to refresh rate. Ensure it's set to 144Hz.
Save Settings:
- Save and exit the menu.
Troubleshooting:
- Check Compatibility: Verify that your monitor and PS5 support 144Hz. The PS5 generally supports up to 120Hz at 1080p, so if your monitor's maximum refresh rate is higher, you may need to adjust expectations or settings.
- Firmware Update: Ensure your monitor’s firmware is up to date. Check the HP website for any updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
