Example: Pavilion 15-bc550na

Please suggest how I can disable the touch screen on my Pavilion

Preferably by a keyboard shortcut

Hi @Aquilaroyal

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with disabling the touchscreen.

Let's try these steps -

1.) In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, then select Device Manager.
2.) Select the arrow next to Human Interface Devices and then select HID-compliant touch screen. (There may be more than one listed.)
3.) Select the Action tab at the top of the window. Select Disable device device, and then confirm.

You may also try these registry settings -

1.) Search for and open regedit
2.) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Wisp\Touch
3.) Create a new DWORD (32 bit) with the name TouchGate
4.) Doubleclik on the newly ceated DWORD and make sure it has the value 0
(0 = touch disabled, 1 = touch enabled)
5.) Restart the computer.

Backup the registry before making the changes. Refer to step#1 Backing up the Windows registry

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
