I have had my computer for over a year and it had always connected to my TV through HDMI automatically with no problem. Now, it will not connect and I have tested the HDMI cord with other devices and it works fine. I've tried to connect with 2 different TVs, one TV being new, but neither is even showing my laptop being connected. So I am thinking it is probably a problem with my computer. Can someone please help?

Greetings @Joshhh,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that you are unable to project from your computer to a TV.
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
Are there any unknown devices listed in device manager when the TV is connected?
Request you refer to this HP Article and try the steps suggested.
Keep me posted. Good Luck.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked the Device Manager and I can't tell if anything new is there but I don't believe there is. Here is a screenshot of my Device Manager. I am looking at the page you sent me now 🙂

Thanks for the reply and trying the suggested steps. Expand monitors in device manager and check.
If the issue persists or if the monitors are not listed in device manager when connected. Request you contact our phone support for the service options available to have the HDMI port checked.
Keep me posted.

Here is what is listed under Monitors. There isn't an option for HDMI listed anywhere that I could find on my computer. I tried going through different things and this came up, and I didn't know if this could possibly be a problem? I also couldn't figure the phone support out to contact them. Is there a number I can call?

Thanks for the reply and sharing the screenshot. If any external monitor is connected to the computer it should be listed in device manager under monitors.
As it is not getting detected, recommend you install the graphics driver using HP Support Assistant or contact our phone support for the service options available to have the HDMI port checked.
If you could let me know the country you are located in, I will be able to provide the customer care number if you are unable to find it.
Keep me posted. Good Luck.
