Hi @Gnuhu,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

On a German keyboard, the pipe key (|) can be accessed by using a specific key combination. Since your keyboard has multiple functions on the same key, you’ll need to use the right key combination to type the pipe symbol. Here's how you can do it:

For German Keyboard Layout:

Locate the Key: On German keyboards, the pipe symbol (|) is typically found on the same key as the less-than (<) and greater-than (>) symbols. This key is usually positioned just to the right of the left Shift key.

Type the Pipe Symbol:

  • Press and hold the Alt Gr key (located to the right of the space bar).
  • While holding down the Alt Gr key, press the key that has the |, <, and > symbols.

Tips:

  • Alternate Method: If Alt Gr doesn’t work, try using the Shift key with the Alt key, but this is less common for typing the pipe symbol.
  • Keyboard Layout: Verify that you’re using the German keyboard layout (QWERTZ). If you’re using a different layout, the location or combination might differ.

If you’re using a different input language or have customized your keyboard layout, the combination might vary slightly.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
