Hi @Emicske,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
Connecting two external monitors to your HP laptop (model 15s-eq2155ng) can be tricky, especially with the limitations of the laptop's ports. Given your specifications, it seems like you have a SuperSpeed USB Type-C® port but might not have HDMI or DisplayPort options directly available.
Here’s how you can troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Steps to Connect Two Monitors
Verify Ports and Capabilities:
- USB-C Port: Check if your USB-C port supports video output (Alternate Mode). Not all USB-C ports support video out. Verify this in your laptop’s specifications or user manual.
- Check the Laptop’s Manual: Ensure that your laptop’s USB-C port supports video output or multi-monitor setups.
Use USB-C to HDMI Adapter:
- Purchase a Compatible Adapter: If your USB-C port supports video output, use a USB-C to HDMI adapter or dock that supports multiple monitors. Make sure it’s capable of handling dual monitors.
- Connect Monitors: Connect your first monitor to the USB-C to HDMI adapter. Use a second HDMI to USB-C adapter or dock to connect the second monitor if needed.
Check Docking Stations:
- Use a Docking Station: Consider using a USB-C docking station with dual HDMI or DisplayPort outputs. Many docking stations support multiple monitors and can help simplify connections.
- Connect and Configure: Connect the docking station to your laptop and then connect each monitor to the docking station. Ensure the docking station is powered if required.
Adjust Display Settings:
- Windows Display Settings:
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down and click on Detect if the monitors aren’t automatically detected.
- Ensure that Multiple displays are set to Extend these displays or another appropriate setting.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Emicske,
Check for Driver Updates:
- Update Graphics Drivers: Go to the HP Support website and check for the latest graphics drivers for your laptop model. Install any updates.
- Update USB-C Drivers: Ensure that USB-C drivers are up-to-date as well, which can sometimes affect the ability to use external displays.
Try Different Configurations:
- Switch Cables and Ports: Test different HDMI cables and ports on the monitors. Sometimes the issue can be with the cables or the ports themselves.
- Test Monitors Individually: Connect each monitor individually to confirm they are working properly.
Verify Monitor Settings:
- Input Source: Ensure each monitor is set to the correct input source (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) through its on-screen menu.
Use a USB Display Adapter:
- External USB Adapter: If you’re unable to connect both monitors through USB-C, consider using an external USB to HDMI display adapter. Connect the adapter to a USB port on your laptop and then connect the second monitor.
If Problems Persist
- Check for Compatibility Issues: Ensure that all adapters, docking stations, and cables are compatible with your laptop and monitors.
- If you’re still having trouble, consider contacting HP Phone Support for further assistance,
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
