I just purchased an HP 17 (HP laptop 17-cp3035cl) laptop and I'm going nuts trying to connect it to a pair of hdmi monitors. I tried a USB-C hub, which didn't work because the USB-C port apparently doesn't support DP Alt mode. Forgetting the hub, I can attach one monitor to the hdmi port on the laptop. How do I connect the second monitor?

The specs of your machine is

Its USB-C port is hopeless which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
