I have just purchased my HP Laptop, downloaded photos from my phone to my laptop. My computer screen and photos look like negatives from film. How do I correct this? I am new to Windows 11, and not computer literate.

Hi @Dachshund7909,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the issue you're experiencing might be related to the display settings on your HP laptop, especially if the photos appear inverted or like negatives. Here’s how you can check and adjust your display settings in Windows 11.
Open Display Settings:
- Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.
- Select "Display settings" from the context menu that appears.
Check Color Settings:
- In the Display settings window, scroll down and look for the "Color and brightness" section.
- Make sure the color profile selected is appropriate for your display. You may see options like "Vivid," "Natural," or others depending on your laptop model.
Adjust Color Profile:
- Click on "Color profile" under the "Color and brightness" section.
- Choose a different color profile that looks normal and natural to you. If you're not sure, you can try selecting "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" which is a standard color profile.
Apply Changes:
- After selecting a color profile, observe if the photos on your screen appear correct.
- Click "Apply" if you make any changes.
Check Photos:
- Open one of your photos to see if it displays correctly now. It should no longer appear like a negative.
If adjusting the color profile doesn't solve the issue, there might be other display settings or drivers that need attention. However, this basic adjustment should help in most cases where colors are inverted or appear like photo negatives.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
