I am using the HP Chromebook 360, and when I flip my laptop into tablet mode it still has the keyboard enabled. Not only that but also my touchscreen is not dual touchscreen. I can't use two fingers at a time on the screen. I can only use one. How do I disable the sensor for my laptop to register tablet mode on my chromebook using Chrome OS?

Hi @SunnyGutierrez, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Chromebook x360 - 14b-ca0013dx is not properly detecting tablet mode, which should automatically disable the keyboard and enable full multi-touch functionality. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
Restart Your Chromebook
A simple restart can sometimes resolve detection issues.
- Click on the Clock at the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Select the Power button to turn off your Chromebook.
- Wait for a few seconds, then turn it back on and check if the issue persists.
Check Tablet Mode Settings
- Open Chrome browser and type: chrome://flags
Press Enter. - In the search bar, type "tablet" and look for options related to tablet mode, tablet behavior, or convertible mode.
- If any relevant flags are disabled, try enabling them.
- Restart your Chromebook and check if tablet mode works properly.
Reset Your Chromebook Sensors
Your Chromebook might not be properly detecting the hinge position. To reset:
- Hold down Refresh + Power buttons for about 10 seconds.
- Release both buttons and turn on your Chromebook again.
- Flip your device into tablet mode and check if the keyboard gets disabled.
Update Chrome OS
Ensure that your Chrome OS is fully updated:
- Click on the Clock > Settings (⚙️ icon).
- Scroll down and select About Chrome OS.
- Click Check for Updates.
- If an update is available, install it and restart your Chromebook.
Run a Diagnostics Test
HP provides a built-in diagnostic tool for Chromebook sensors:
- Press Search + Esc to open the Task Manager.
- Look for any processes related to the keyboard or touchscreen and restart them.
- Open Chrome and enter: chrome://diagnostics
- Run tests related to sensor, touchscreen, and keyboard to check if the sensors are detected correctly.
Perform a Hard Reset
If the issue persists, try a hard reset to refresh your Chromebook hardware:
- Turn off your Chromebook.
- Press and hold Refresh + Power until your Chromebook restarts.
- Release both keys and check if tablet mode works correctly.
Powerwash (Factory Reset)
If none of the above steps work, you may need to reset your Chromebook to factory settings:
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings.
- Click Powerwash and follow the instructions.
⚠️ This will erase all local data, so back up any important files first.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
