Hi @Johnson75,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your all-in-one computer is stuck in tablet mode and you can't find the usual button to switch it back to desktop mode, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Method 1: Using the Action Center
Open Action Center:
- Click on the Action Center icon (a speech bubble or square icon) located at the bottom-right corner of your screen near the clock and date. If the icon is not visible, swipe from the right edge of the screen or press Windows key + A.
Toggle Tablet Mode:
- Look for the Tablet mode button in the Action Center. If it’s highlighted, click it to turn off Tablet mode.
Method 2: Using Windows Settings
- Click on the Start Menu and select Settings (gear icon).
- In the Settings window, click on System.
- In the left sidebar, click on Tablet.
- Under When I sign in, select Never use tablet mode or Use desktop mode.
- Under When this device automatically switches tablet mode on or off, select Don’t ask me and don’t switch.
Method 3: Using the Registry Editor
- Press Windows key + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
- Go to the following path:
- Find the TabletMode value on the right pane.
- Double-click it and set the value data to 0 to disable Tablet mode.
- Click OK and close the Registry Editor.
Method 4: Check for Windows Updates
- Click on the Start Menu and select Settings (gear icon).
- In the Settings window, click on Update & Security.
- Click on Check for updates and install any available updates. Sometimes, issues like this can be resolved with the latest updates from Microsoft.
Method 5: Restart Your Computer:
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor glitches. Click on the Start Menu, select the Power button, and choose Restart.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
